Criswell Chaos

For lack of a better title, I decided to let my first blog, that will further expand to become a virtual journal of the happenings at Criswell, be about the chaos, or what I deem as chaos, I've been having to go through lately to be accepted and attend the college. For those that don't know, I'm about to begin my second semester at Criswell which was founded by none other than W.A. Criswell himself. It is a college that has been established to be different due to its Emphasis on the Christian Word, Emphasis on the Christian Worldview, and Emphasis on the Christian Witness. It is a college that focuses on preparing students for Kingdom service. Interestingly, it couples majors such as Humanities, Evangelism and Mission, Counseling, Pastoral Ministry, Youth Ministry, and Worship Leading with Biblical Studies so a student can potentially graduate from the college with two majors due to the programs design. Of course one could always just have Biblical Studies as their major. It is a place where great lengths are taken to emphasize Biblical Inerrancy and did I mention it is Baptist!

This is where I come in. After graduating from CFNI, I decided to attend DBU but for some reason DBU wasn't cutting it! So I took a leap of faith decided to further expand my Biblical knowledge and theology attended Criswell. I registered the day before classes began and entered as a non-degree student, took two classes and determined this is what made my "boat float." During that process, it was hard to nearly impossible to get all the paperwork completed and turned in. It seems as though, it has been impossible to meet deadlines though. However, I'm beginning to believe that most of my deadline mishaps have been because correspondence between Criswell, myself, and their website seem to say contradicting things. I'm beginning to see that it is seriously much better to just call the school and speak to someone in person. Why all this chaos? Who knows! Interestingly, though, I know beyond a shadow of doubt that the lessons learned at Criswell will be lessons I will apply to my daily walk and live up the life God placed in me to fulfill!

This semester coming will be a semester of challenges seeing that I'm planning on working 35 hours and going to school 15. Challenges are ahead but I'm not daunted! I will face Greek I, I will stare Spiritual Foundations in the face, overcome Ancient Times, and maybe even have the ability to enjoy myself in Cinematic Theology! The class I'm really looking forward to for more reasons than one! And the College Success Seminar, which will only go on for 5 weeks, may not be as intense I think it may be! Anyway, here goes everything I have!
